RESTAURANT HIGHLIGHT: THIRD FALCON
Third Falcon is the brainchild of Cali Faulkner, and with her impressive resume which includes Eleven Madison Park, Oxalis, and Crown Shy, I knew I didn't want to miss this. The restaurant pays tribute to the French regions of Brittany and Normandy while also offering up an impressive raw bar and highlighting New York state's own Long Island farms. Although when I visited they did not have a full liquor license, their wine program should not be overlooked and the cocktails give me an extra reason to return.
Here is my take on the ideal order with current menu:
- start with their housemade brioche and butter, and "instead of olives"
- chilled langoustine, smoked gribiche & the mackerel crudo
- chicken, peppers & tomatoes bathed in crab butter (my favorite dish of the night)
- sole meuniere, summer squash, potato gratin
- buckwheat sticky toffee pudding
